Check out my E-Bay Store for High Grade Vintage Coins and Pins! RARE 1950's New York Yankees Baseball Special Police Badge Yankee Stadium Badge Pin. Presented is a rare police badge carried by on-duty police patrols at Yankee Stadium during the 1950s.
The silver-hued badge measures approximately 2.25-by-3 inches and features a rendering of the Great Seal of the United States in the center, "Special Yankee Stadium Police" in black text near the top, and a "196" badge number affixed near the bottom. A flowing design motif is evident along the edges, while a perched eagle at the top of the badge completes the visually arresting presentation. The badge features an intact vertical clothespin clasp on the reverse. The entire badge displays an uncommonly well-preserved manner of appearance; no readily discernible rust is evident on either front or back, and the item's shine and striking design contribute to its stellar visual appeal. While names such as Mantle, Berra, Rizzuto, and Bauer patrolled the diamond, New York's finest patrolled the stands and surrounds of The Cathedral of Baseball; this is a seldom-seen artifact that speaks to the collaboration between city and franchise that is necessary for our largest sporting events to be safely enjoyed.
