MADE IN USA NEW YORK YANKEES New Era 59FIFTY Black/Red Trim 9/11 September 11th Attacks Memorial "FDNY" ("Fire Department New York"/New York City Fire Department) Officially Licensed MLB Authentic Commemorative Fitted Hat (Size: 7 3/4) TEAM ISSUED. These memorial hats were worn by members of the New York Yankees beginning on September 11th, 2020 in a day-night doubleheader against the Baltimore Orioles, with the Yankees winning both contests. In subsequent years, the New York Yankees have continued to don these caps on September 11th of each year, with the exception of 2023 in which their game against the Boston Red Sox was postponed to a day-night doubleheader on September 12th due to inclement weather (the Yankees wore these caps yet again on September 12th regardless of the postponement).

It is expected that the Yankees will continue to sport a similar cap in future MLB games occurring on September 11th. "Team Issued" refers to this hat being issued by the New York Yankees into their clubhouse as Official On-Field Apparel, although it was never issued to a specific player (and therefore never used). For this reason, this hat does not have the New Era stickers which are generally associated with a brand new New Era hat, as this hat was not initially intended for retail sale.

Hat was "MADE IN USA" in order to comply with MLB regulations, as all aspects of Official MLB Uniforms must be produced in the United States. These hats have become rather difficult to come by due to the fact that New Era has halted United States production of hats for retail sale (as of June 2019), and now utilizes their plant in Miami-Dade County, Florida exclusively for the production of Official On-Field Caps worn by MLB Players (see last photo of interior tag).

Hat is brand new, and has never before been used or worn despite being issued into the New York Yankees clubhouse; deemed to be in near-mint to mint condition. If you happen to have any questions or concerns, please let me know!
